Seat too high. Seatpost is
hitting the frame
Loose or worn crank bearings
Worn or loose drive belt
Sprocket rubbing against
housing
Damaged crank bearings
Loose or damaged chain
Alternator/flywheel assembly
damaged or worn
Worn freewheel Gear
Corrective Action

Adjust seat height

Adjust or replace crank bearings

Tighten the drive belt. It should have 1/4"
(6mm) maximum play

Replace worn drive belt
q
Tighten crank nut
q
Replace worn crank bearings

Replace chain
q
Replace Alternator/flywheel assembly

Replace freewheel gear and pulley
