CHECKING THE CLUTCH BOSS

1. Check:
• clutch boss splines
• clutch boss cam groove
• clutch boss one-way cam
Damage/pitting/wear → Replace the clutch
boss and clutch boss one-way cam as a
set.
NOTE:
_
Pitting on the clutch boss splines will cause
erratic clutch operation.

CHECKING THE PRESSURE PLATE

1. Check:
• pressure plate
Cracks/damage → Replace.

CHECKING THE CLUTCH BALLS

1. Check:
• clutch ball
Pitting/damage/wear → Replace the clutch
balls as a set.

CHECKING THE PRIMARY DRIVE GEARS

1. Check:
• primary drive gear 1
• primary driven gear 2
Damage/wear → Replace the primary drive
gear and clutch housing as a set.
Excessive noise
Replace the primary drive gear and clutch
housing as a set.
