NOTE: An antifreeze concentration should be selected on the basis of a temperature which
is about 10' F (5' C) lower than the actual atmospheric temperature expected.
B. Filling the Fresh Water System
A coolant recovery tank kit is supplied with each Westerbeke gasoline generator. The purpose of this
recovery tank Is to allow for engine coolant expansion and contraction, during engine operation, without the
loss of coolant and without introducing air into the cooling system.
This coolant recovery tank should be installed at, or above, the engine's manifold level, in a location where
it can be easily monttored and where coolant can be easily added if needed (see the figure below). A stain-
less steel mounting bracket is supplied with each ktt along with a 30-inch length of clear plastic hose and
clamps to connectthe hose between the engine's manifold fitting to the hose spud on the base of the recovery
tank.
