Supplementary Notes <Flash FDD>

Flash FDD

Flash FDD is an alternative device of FDD using USB flash drive. This device can be used
as boot device without additional driver. Also, automatically recognized by OS as a Floppy
disk drive after connecting to USB port since this device supports Plug and Play.

 Flash FDD (N8160-86) overview
 USB2.0 compliant FDD emulation feature equipped
in the USB Flash drive.
 Stick type. FD icon/capacity is printed for easy
recognition.
 Capacity: 1.44MB (FAT formatted)

 Strap hole, Write protect switch.
 Intended uses of FDD substituted by Flash FDD
 Flash FDD can be used instead of FDD for the following uses. Arrange Flash FDD if
needed for your system.

Linux OS installation
Off line update of BIOS or some firmware

ARCserve Backup on Microsoft Windows
Server 2008 or later.
When additional driver is needed for
Backup Exec Intelligent Disaster Recovery
option or disaster recovery of NetVault.
Backup/restore of HW information (Serial
Number, etc.) when replacement or repair
of Hardware.
