Redundant Power Supply (RPS)
RPS units enhance network reliability by providing backup coverage for switch
Power Supply Units (PSUs).
AT-8800 Series switches have an RPS connector on their rear panel. The
connector allows the switch to be used in conjunction with an RPS.
When an RPS is required, AT-8848 and AT-8824 models use the AT-RPS8000
system. RPS systems can be purchased separately.
AT-RPS8000
The AT-RPS8000 is a chassis that holds up to four removable AT-PWR8000 RPS
units. To provide backup power to AT-8824 and AT-8848 switches, each switch
must be connected to an AT-PWR8000 power unit, and the power unit must be
installed in an AT-RPS8000 chassis.
Table 9 on page 24 lists the RPS connector's pin numbers and pin functions, as
found on AT-8824 and AT-8848 switches.
