Installing the Drivers
Installation Overview
Although you can install the necessary drivers separately, to avoid the complications
involved with repeating installation and switching settings, we recommend starting
out by installing both the standard and special drivers.
The suggested procedure is described below.
* In case you are not familiar with software installation, please refer to the document on the
CD-ROM included with the M-1000 for more detailed instruction.
Windows

With Windows
1.
With the M-1000 disconnected, start up your computer.
If the setting is not default factory setting
2.Initialize the M-1000.
3.Turn the M-1000 off temporarily.
4.
Connect the M-1000 and the computer with a USB cable.
5.
Turn on the M-1000.
6.
Follow the instructions displayed to install the standard drivers. The M-
1000's USB indicator lights.
The instructions are not displayed if the drivers have already been installed; in this case, proceed to step 8.
7.
Re-boot the computer.
8.
Press the CLOCK SOURCE button to switch the M-1000 to Advanced mode
(the light flashes).
9.
Turn off the M-1000 (do not turn it on again just yet).
10. Open the folder on the included CD-ROM corresponding to the operating
system version you are using, then run "Setupinf.exe" in the "Driver"
folder.
11. Turn the M-1000 back on.
12. Follow the instructions displayed to install the special driver. The M-1000's
USB and ADVANCED indicators light.
13. Go to "Start"
Device" (, "Sound and Multimedia" or "Multimedia"); specify the M-1000
(or the USB audio device) as the priority device for audio.

Initialize:
Set the [SELECT] switch to the
optical setting, then hold down
the CLOCK SOURCE button
while turning on the M-1000
(p. 18).
During the re-boot procedure,
USB indicator or internal
indicator (INT) of M-1000
irregulary blinks. But this is
not malfunction.
Please confirm USB indicator
lits after re-booting.
You can choose any sampling
rate.
