CHECKPOINTS AFTER
STARTING ENGINE
8 Check for a steady flow of water from the
cooling water pilot hole.
8 Check that the oil pressure indicator is
on. For further information, see Chapter
2, "Oil pressure indicator."
8 Check that the engine idle speed is stable
after the engine has warmed up.

If water is not flowing out of the pilot
hole at all times while the engine is run-
ning, overheating and serious damage
could occur. Stop the engine and check
whether the cooling water inlet on the
lower case is blocked. Consult your
Yamaha dealer if the problem cannot be
located and corrected.
