Using the timer
You can use your handset as a timer
(short-term alarm clock). The maximum
time that can be set is 23 hours, 59 min-
utes and 59 seconds.
The timer continues to run during a call.
The timer cannot be started if the room
monitor (page 19) is active.
Starting the timer

Press the timer key.

Enter the time in hours, min-
utes and seconds, then

The timer starts. You can see the remain-
ing time in the display. At the end of the
time you see

an advisory tone if the timer finishes while
a phone call is in progress.

Restoring the handset
default settings
You can reset individual settings and
changes you have made. Entries in the
directory and in the calls list, the handset's
registration to the base and a stored pic-
ture or ringer melody will not be affected.

Base station settings
The base station settings are made with a
registered Gigaset M56 handset.
Access control
Protect the system settings of the base sta-
tion with a system PIN known only to you.
The system PIN must now be entered for
handset registration/de-registration,
restoring default settings or barging in, for
example.
