Operating the answering
machine
Having an answering machine record every incoming
call during your absence is so convenient. It is operated
on the handset and is ready for use as soon as your
base station is activated.
Operating the answering machine is made easier by
appropriate displays on the handset and by announce-
ments that you can hear on the handset.
Unless you set the date and time (see page 11), record-
ed messages will not be "time stamped" .
In addition to the telephone's answering machine, you
can use an "answering machine service" offered by
your network provider (e.g. mailbox). None of the fol-
lowing functions relates to the network provider's an-
swering machine. Check with your network provider
for these.

Activating/deactivating the AM

Your answering machine is activated and ready for op-
eration once your base station has been put into serv-
ice. For recording messages with a time stamp, you
need to set the date and time (see page 11). The an-
swering machine uses the standard announcement
stored until you record your own announcement.

Select the menu item and confirm.

The answering machine is now activated (marked

) and ready to record.

To deactivate, confirm the marked function again.

If the answering machine's memory is full it
switches itself off. Delete old messages (see
page 66).
