10.2 PS/2 Keyboard Interface

This IBM PS/2 keyboard interface uses CMOS signal levels.
(1) Keyboard connection type
Select one of the following connection types according to your connection.
Select:
"With external keyboard" (default)
"Without external keyboard"
"With external numeric keypad"
(2) Caps Lock/Num Lock states of host computer
Select Caps Lock ON or OFF and Num Lock ON or OFF to match the states of the connected keyboard. (Default:
Caps Lock OFF, Num Lock ON)
(3) Keyboard type
Select the connected keyboard type. (Default: U.S. English)
(4) Data transmission interval
When the scanner reads a large volume of data in succession or it is connected to a computer whose processing speed
is low, the computer may cause a data overflow and issues an alarm error. For the solution, there are seven choices for
transmission interval, ranging from 1 ms to 100 ms. (Default: 1 ms)

10.3 Communication Format

10.3.1 Data transmission format

Select one of the following two data transmission formats.
Header
Code ID mark

Prefix
(1) Header/Terminator
The following choices are available.
RS-232C interface
Header:
None (default) or STX
Terminator: CR (default), LF, CR LF, ETX, or none
Note: Selecting none for a terminator automatically uses a CR terminator in the control command transmission format.
PS/2 keyboard interface
Header:
None (default), TAB, ESC, ENTER or others
Terminator: None, TAB, ESC, ENTER (default) or others
Note: A user-defined header or terminator can be specified with the configuration software. It should be a maximum
of four bytes long and consist of ASCII characters (00h to 7Fh and E7h to FDh).
Between the desktop computer and its keyboard (excluding a numeric keypad).
To a notebook computer (without connection to the keyboard).
Between the computer and its numeric keypad.
