Extent

Certain traffic messages also contain informa-
tion on the extent of the traffic obstruction.
In addition to the symbol, a yellow, orange, red
or black line along the route is shown on all
scales up to 3 miles. The length of the line is
corresponds to the extent (distance) of the traf-
fic problem.

Scale of the area for traffic information

The map scale determines the amount of traffic
information that can be displayed; the larger
the area on the map shown on the screen, the
greater the amount of information displayed.
