Please keep this card with your original purchase documents to enable the processing of your claim promptly.
WARRANTY
1. The warranty is in addition to (and does not exclude or modify in any way) any non-excludable statutory rights you may have (including under the Trade Practice Act).
TERM
2. The warranty runs for the term.
WARRANTY*
3. Subject to clause 4, we warrant that the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product will be free from inherent defects in materials and workmanship for the term.
4. The warranty ceases if:
a) The Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product ceases to carry the original manufacturer's serial number, was sold at auction or sold as second hand;
b) The Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product is repaired, serviced or interfered with (in any way) other than by us and/or our authorised service centre
c) The Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product is damaged by:
normal wear and tear;
accident;
misuse;
failure to properly clean the Hotpoint Electric (Aust) P/L product or any part (including heads, internal cavities, user accessible filters);
Failure to properly maintain and service; infestation by insects or vermin;
incomplete or incorrect installation;
incorrect operation;
excessive use;
use of which is not designed;
use of faulty or leaking batteries;
incorrect voltage;
incorrect installation
Natural Disaster and/or Act of God
Pixel drop out on LCD and/or Plasma of 5 or less pixels
Use of non- Hotpoint (Aust) P/L specified parts and/or accessories unless otherwise authorised by Hotpoint (Aust) P/L
d) The Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product is rented;
e) The Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product is used in a commercial environment or used other than a normal, domestic environment;
f) The Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product is used other than in Australia.
5. This warranty does not apply to any accessory (including any consumable) supplied with the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product (including but not limited to aerials, detachable power leads, earphones,
connecting cables, batteries, and tape/CD/DVD.).
CLAIM
6. If you wish to make a claim under the warranty you may contact us for your nearest authorised service centre. The service will be in home pick up and/or in home service if the product is a colour
television with a screen size of 68cm or above, an air conditioner and/or falls within a travel radius of 25km from the nearest authorised service centre.
7. If we request you to deliver or send the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product to us or an authorised service centre, you will do so at your expense.
8. Proof of purchase must be shown to the authorised service centre to claim under warranty repairs. Failure to produce adequate proof of purchase will result in repairs at the consumers expense
LIABILITY
9. Should the consumer feel that we are in breach of our warranty. A written response needs to be directed to Hotpoint (Aust) P/L.
10. If you make a claim under warranty, we will assume the following:
a) The replacement of the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product or replacement by supply of an equivalent product;
b) The repair of the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product by us or a Hotpoint Electric (Aust) P/L Service Centre;
c) The payment of the cost of replacing the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product by an equivalent product; or
d) The payment of the cost of having the HOTPOINT (AUST) P/L product repaired.
11. If we provide you with either a replacement or equivalent product under clause 10 (a) or payment under clause 10 (c) you immediately transfer ownership in the original Hotpoint (Aust) P/L
product to us. Hotpoint (Aust) P/L will not guarantee the provided replacement to be of new origin and is determined by Hotpoint (Aust) P/L
12. The date the consumer takes possession of the original Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product the commencement of the warranty shall be in effect. The warranty date will not be affected by any warranty
repairs and/or exchanges.
RETURN
12. If we take possession of the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product under Clause 6 or 7, and if we provide you with a replacement or an equivalent product under Clause 9(a), a repair under Clause 9(b) or a
payment for repair under Clause 9(d), we will return the replacement product, the equivalent product or the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product by delivering to the nearest Hotpoint (Aust) P/L Service Centre
at our cost.
NOT COVERED
13. Subject to Clause 1 if, after we have inspected the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product, we are of the opinion that the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product or alleged defect is not covered by the warranty for
whatever reason, you will be liable for any labour, parts or transport costs incurred by us.
14. In this contract:
"Our Cost" means at cost, which will be paid by us;
"Hotpoint Electric (Aust) P/L product" means the product sold to you and appearing under the definition of "term", but does not include any accessories or consumable supplied with any
product (including items such as aerials, detachable power leads, earphones, connecting cables, batteries and tapes).
"Term" means the period applying to the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product as set out below. This period commences on the date of purchase of the Hotpoint (Aust) P/L product.
" Hotpoint (Aust) P/L Service Centre means a person who carries out, among other things, repair and service work as our authorized agent and who appears in lists maintained and published
by us from time to time.
* Hotpoint (Aust) P/L has the right to determine if the warranty claim is valid.
The warranty conditions in this document are correct at the time of print and are subject to change without notice.
