The compressor may not be turning on in air conditioning mode for the Hotpoint MAC140 due to the following potential reasons:
1. Temperature Setting Issue: The set temperature may be higher than the room temperature. Adjust the temperature setting to a lower value.
2. Blocked Air Inlet or Outlet: Check and clear any obstructions at the air inlet or outlet.
3. Dirty Air Filters: The air filters might be clogged. Clean the air filters as needed.
4. Faulty Room Temperature Sensor (Error Code E1): If the diagnostic system shows "E1," the room temperature sensor may be faulty. Contact customer service for repair.
5. Power Source Issue: Ensure the voltage from the power source is correct.
If none of these resolve the issue, further troubleshooting or professional service may be required.
