Enabling Microsoft Networking

In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties > Connectivity > Port Settings.

Select Enabled next to SMB.
To enable these protocols, select TCP/IP or NetBEUI.

Configuring Microsoft Networking

1.
In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties > Connectivity > Protocols > Microsoft
Networking.
Select a transport protocol from the Transport drop-down list.

Set the maximum number of connections. Default is five.

Type the workgroup name in the Workgroup field.

Type the host name in the SMB Host Name field.

Select Enabled next to TBCP Filter, if your SMB server supports unicode.
Select Enabled next to Unicode Support, if your SMB server supports unicode.

Select Enabled next to Auto Master Mode, if your SMB server supports it.
To encrypt user passwords for remote authentication using SMB, select Enabled next to Password

Configuring WINS

When running WINS, the printer registers its IP address and NetBIOS host name with a WINS server.
WINS allows users to communicate with the printer by only using the host name, removing a
significant overhead from the systems administrators.
To configure primary and secondary WINS servers:

In CentreWare Internet Services, click Properties > Connectivity > Protocols > Microsoft
Networking.
To allow the DHCP server to provide your WINS server address to the printer, select DHCP next to

Obtain WINS Server Address Automatically.

To provide the WINS server address manually, type it in the Primary Server IP Address field.
Type the secondary WINS server address in the Secondary Server IP Address field as needed.
