If your company or the telecom service provider provides Synchronization
function with Exchange, you can configure the phone to synchronize the
data with Exchange. By synchronizing with Exchange, it will be much easier
for you to maintain the agreement of the data in your computer, phone and
Exchange.
Synchronizing with Exchange will give some additional functions: for
example, Direct Push (Note 1), remote data clearing, enhanced security
and additional functions for Messaging Center. The synchronization with
Exchange is not limited to connection with the computer. You can also use
Internet connections such as Wi-Fi or GPRS to synchronize with Exchange.
(Note 1) Direct Push allows you to keep connection with Exchange, when a
new e-mail item arrives in Exchange, the server will inform you to synchronize
your phone to save the power consumption and transmission cost.
When you configure for scheduled synchronization as "When new items
arrive", it means using the Direct Push function. To use Direct Push®, you must
first configure the GPRS connection, please refer to section 7.4.
