Step 5 - Connect FM Wire Antenna

Connect the supplied FM wire antenna to the FM 75Ω Antenna connector on the back panel.

Be sure to fully extend the FM wire antenna. Make use of the small loop at the free end of the antenna to maintain its position.

If noise or interference occurs, use an external antenna with a 75Ω coaxial cable (not included).
• After connecting the FM wire antenna, keep it as hori-
zontal as possible. The antenna is directional, so you
may need to move it around to get the best reception.

Step 6 - Connect External Audio/Video Components (Optional)

The back panel of the DVD System provides five additional
inputs and outputs you can use to connect external audio/
video components, such as a VCR, satellite receiver or
powered subwoofer.
Video 1 Input
Connect from the outputs of a VCR
(or other audio/video component) with coaxial cables.
This input enables you to enjoy Pro Logic surround
sound from videotapes playing in your VCR.
Video 2 Input
Connect from a satellite receiver or
cable box with coaxial cables. This input enables you to
enjoy surround sound from television broadcasts.
Video 2 Output
Connect to the inputs of your TV,
VCR (or other audio/video component) with coaxial
cables. Be sure to set the correct output format of the
audio signal for your component; see "Audio Setup" on
page 14.
Sub Output
Connect to a powered subwoofer (not
included) with a coaxial cable.
Optical Output
Connect to a digital recorder, such
as a MiniDisc recorder, with an optical cable. Be sure
to set the correct output format of the audio signal for
your component; see "Audio Setup" on page 14.
