The WESTERBEKE serial number is an alphanumeric
number that can assist in determining the date of manufac-
ture of your
WESTERBEKE
engine or generator. The manu-
facturer's date code is placed at the end of the engine serial
number and consists of a character followed by three num-
bers. The character indicates the decade (A=1960s, B=1970s,
C=1980s, D=1990s E=2000s), the first number represents the
year in the decade, and the second and third numbers repre-
sent the month of manufacture.
SERIAL NUMBER LOCATION
The engine's serial number can be found stamped into the
engine block just out board of the injection pump. An
identification plate on the engine manifold also displays the
engine model and serial number.
The generator serial number is stamped on the left side of the
generator housing and on the flat surface above the rotary
carrier bearings.
