ENGINE TROUBLESHOOTING

KNOCKING ENGINE KNOCKS WITHOUT MUCH SMOKE

1. Poor compression.
2. Injection pump malfunctioning.

Broken delivery valve spring.
d. Worn delivery valve seat.
3. Improper nozzle.
a.
Poor spray.
b.
Poor chattering.
c.
After-injection drip.
d. Nozzle needle valve seized.
INTERMITTENT 1. Fuel filter clogged.
EXHAUST SOUND 2. Fuel pipe sucks air.
3. Water mixed in fuel
OVERHEATING 1. V-belt slackening or slippery with oil.
2. Damaged water pump.
3. Lack of coolant.
4. Low oil level or poor oil quality.
5. Knocking.
6. Moving parts seized or damaged.
7. Defective thermostat.
LOW OIL PRESSURE 1. Worn Bearings.
2. Relief valve malfunction.
3. Clogged oil cooler.
4. Diesel dilution of the oil.
