The process of setting up and using your scanner for the first time involves the steps shown below.
Step 3—Install the IEEE 1394/Firewire
* This step is not required if your com-
puter is equipped with a built-in IEEE
1394/Firewire port or if you already
have a suitable board.
Step 5—Install the IEEE 1394 Update
* Photoshop LE is not required to use
your Nikon scanner. If desired, installa-
tion can be performed at a later date
(Macintosh users will need to copy the
Nikon Scan 3 plug-in into the Photoshop
plug-ins folder manually).
