Replacing the heat sink

This section provides instructions on how to replace the heat sink.
CAUTION:
The heat sink might be very hot. Turn off the computer and wait three to five
minutes to let the computer cool before opening the computer cover.
To replace the heat sink, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets.
2. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the computer cover" on page 14.
3. Locate the heat sink. See "Locating components" on page 10.

Note: When the computer is turned on for the first time after battery
replacement, an error message might be displayed. This is normal after
replacing the battery.
