The door and wash lights being on and the start/pause button flashing on a Defy DAW 317 while no water is coming in could be caused by clogged inlet water filters. These filters, located at the end of each water intake valve and where the hoses connect to the tap, prevent dirt from entering the machine. If they are dirty, water cannot enter the machine, causing it to pause and not start the wash cycle.
