Connecting an External Modem
When the printer is configured for an external modem, there is a 9-pin male
connector on the I/O plate at the rear of the printer.
9-Pin Connector
1. Using the appropriate cable, connect the printer to the fax modem.
NOTE
The cable that connects the printer to the fax modem must be
supplied by the user.
2. Using the telephone cord, connect the telephone to your fax modem.
NOTE
Using the fax modem adapter on any phone line with a call-
waiting feature is not recommended.
