3. RESTORING THE FACTORY CONDITION USING A RECOVERY DVD
7. If a recovery DVD actually comes as a set of discs, the following message is displayed
when the first disc of the recovery DVD set finishes its part of restoring the drive. Remove
the first disc from the DVD drive and insert the next disc of the recovery DVD set to the
DVD drive.

Remove "HITACHI HJ-654x***** Product Recovery DVD Disc X1/Y1" and
Insert "Disc X2/Y2".
The underlined part, "X1/Y1", shows the disc number of the currently inserted disc of the
recovery DVD set. The underlined part, "X2/Y2", shows the disc number of the next disc.
8. If you press Enter, restoring the drive resumes and the progress is displayed.

9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the number of the discs in the recovery DVD set.
10. When the whole process of restoring the drive with a recovery DVD is finished, the
following message is displayed. Remove the recovery DVD from the DVD drive.

from the DVD drive and restart HJ-654x*****.
11. Press the power switch to turn off the power to the HF-W and press the power switch
again to turn on the power to the HF-W.
The system drive of the HF-W6500 Model 45/40 is now successfully restored to the factory
condition by using a recovery DVD. After you finish the procedure above, follow the
instruction in "CHAPTER 1 SETUP PROCEDURE WHEN YOU TURN ON THE POWER
FOR THE FIRST TIME" to set up the OS.
