1.2 Setting Up Windows Server® 2008 R2
This section describes the setup procedures of the pre-installed Windows Server® 2008 R2
Standard.
・Basic settings of Windows Server® 2008 R2 Standard are configured.
・The setup of the RAS feature is automatically done.
・The procedure takes about 15 minutes.
1.2.1 Preparing the setup
The following items are necessary for the setup work. Before you start the setup work,
decide or check those items beforehand.

NOTE
When you set up an Administrator password, make sure that the password meets the
following conditions:
・The password must consist of at least six characters.
・At least three out of the following four types of characters must be used: ASCII
uppercase alphabetic characters, ASCII lowercase alphabetic characters, ASCII
numeric characters, and ASCII symbol characters.
・A part of the user account name or username must not be used.
Make sure that the license certificate is attached to the body of the product.
Display language of Windows Server® 2008 R2 Standard
The English version of Windows® has the Multilingual User Interface
(MUI) and you can set the display language of Windows® itself to not only
English, which is a standard option, but also one of the following languages.
・Portuguese
・Thai
・Korean
・Chinese (Traditional)
・Chinese (Traditional (ROC))
・Chinese (Simplified)
You can later change it in Control Panel.
Country or region of your location
You can later change it in Control Panel.
The format used for displaying time and currency.
You can later change it in Control Panel.
The layout of the keyboard
You can later change it in Control Panel.
Administrator password
You can later change it in Control Panel.
