ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Note: Tornoff the switch and unplugthe electricalcord before
routinemaintenance. Never operate the vacuum cleaner
without the top and bottom filters in place.
Note:Whenvacuumingcarpet fresheners or cleaners,powder,
piaster dust,or similar fine substances, the top and bottom
filters will requiremore frequent maintenance.
Removing the Dust Cup
Step 1: Removedust cup by sliding dust cup leverfrom right to left
(FIe. 11).
Step 2: Graspdust cup with both handsand pull out (FIG.12).
Step 3: Emptydust cup into trash.
Step 4: Repositiondust cup in cleanerbodyand secure by moving lever
from leftto right (FIG.13).
Top Filter Maintenance
Thisnew EurekaUprightuses a cyclonesystemas a primary filter and a
secondaryor top mountedfilter that has been movedoutsideof the dirt
cup. This makesemptyingthe dirt cup much easierand less messy.It is
normalfor this filter to trap fine particles,pet hair,and carpet fuzz. It
should be cleanedperiodicallydependingon vacuumingconditions.For
optimum performancereplaceit every 12 months.
Step 1: Removetop filter cover by graspingright edge and pivotingto
the left(FIG.14).
Step 2: Removefilter frame from top filter cover (FIG.15).
Step 3: Removefoam from filter frame (FIG.16).Shakefilter
frame and foam filter to removeexcessdust.If necessary, t he
filter frame and foam filter can be rinsed in luke warm water and
air dried.
Note: The filter frame, foam and cover are not dishwasher
safe.
Step 4: Whendry, replacefoam filter intofilter frame.
Step 5: Replace filter frame intotop filter cover.Replace top filter cover
by pivoting back onto cleanerfrom leftto right.
WARNING: Always checkfoam filter and frame are correcUy
installedin the cover before using vacuum.
