v Use power management. Each operating system comes with its own power
management system.
v If the internal serial devices—the modem, the serial port, and the infrared
port—are not in use, disable them, using the ThinkPad Configuration
Program.
v If you will not be using the computer for a long period, remove the battery
pack and keep it in a cool place.
