Step 4: INFINIUM Valve
The INFINIUM Valve Life Monitoring circuitry
continuously monitors the output valve biasing for
Life Monitoring and
optimum performance and consistent tone, even as
VARIPOWER
the valves age. When an output valve does need to
be replaced, the valve's matching LED on the back
panel will light permanently.
This circuitry monitors each valve individually,
which means you do not need to purchase matched
valve sets. Each valve will operate at ideal current
levels regardless of deviations in the mains voltage.
When you do need to replace a valve, you may plug
in the new valve and immediately begin using the
amplifier; you will not need a technician to set up
the bias for the new valve. You may also freely mix
any combination of EL34/6550- and 6L6/5881-
based valves.
To replace a faulty output valve:
1. Switch off the amplifier and wait for
the output valves to cool down to a safe
temperature before touching them.
2. Press down the tube retainer to the chassis
using two fingers of one hand, and then
gently pull on the valve while lightly rocking
back and forth until the valve loosens and
slides out of the socket.
3. Carefully insert the new valve, making sure
the new valve's prongs are properly aligned
with the matching holes and the center coding
pin is aligned with the corresponding notch in
the socket.
4. Gently push the new valve until it seats firmly
in the socket.
5. Switch the amplifier back on in Standby mode.
6. When the valves have warmed up to operating
temperature, you may switch the amplifier out
of Standby mode.
7. The INFINIUM Valve Life Monitoring
LEDs should now turn off, and you can
begin playing.
When one of the front panel lights starts flashing
regularly, this is to indicate the amp cannot work
due to too many tube issues. In this case we recommend
replacing the faulty power amp tubes immediately.

VARIPOWER Power Scaling
The VARIPOWER function allows the adjustment
of two core parameters of the output power
pentodes—the idle current and the effective electric
field in the valve. This allows you to continuously
reduce the power capacity of the output stage
from over 100 Watts down to only a few Watts.
While keeping the preamp sound exactly the
same, the powerful TRIREC INFINIUM output stage
can now perform just like a tiny 5-Watt all-tube
practice combo. By balancing the MASTER volume
level with the VARIPOWER setting, you can achieve
everything from gentle power amp compression to
heavy power stage distortion, without stressing the
valves any more than in standard operation. This is a
huge advantage of our VARIPOWER technology over
typical power attenuators.
NOTE: When changing VARIPOWER settings,
the target bias current for the INFINIUM regulation
is adapted automatically. If you play while adjusting
VARIPOWER, you might notice this as a slight change
in volume. Please consider that VARIPOWER is meant
for virtually scaling the amplifier's capacity in order
to perfectly match your playing situation, but it is
not intended for constantly changing the sound
while playing.

Para sustituir una válvula de salida averiada:
1. Apague el amplificador y espere hasta que
la temperatura de las válvulas de salida
se reduzca hasta un nivel seguro antes
de tocarlas.
2. Con dos dedos de una mano, empuje hacia
abajo la sujeción de la válvula (llévele hacia
el chasis) y después tire de la válvula a
la vez que la zarandea de un lado a otro
con cuidado hasta que se suelte y salga
del conector.
3. Introduzca con suavidad la nueva válvula,
asegurándose de que sus bornes queden
perfectamente alineados con los agujeros
del conector y que el pin central esté
debidamente alineado con su conector.
4. Con cuidado empuje hacia abajo la nueva
válvula hasta que quede firmemente sujeta
en el conector.
5. Vuelva a conectar el amplificador y haga que
quede en el modo Standby (espera).
6. Una vez que las válvulas se hayan
precalentadas y hayan llegado a su
temperatura operativa óptica, puede activar
del todo el amplificador (desactivar el
modo Standby).
7. Los pilotos INFINIUM Valve Life Monitoring
deberían apagarse y ya podrá empezar
a tocar.
Si una de las luces del panel frontal empieza a
parpadear regularmente, indica que el
amplificador no puede funcionar correctamente debido
a problemas con las válvulas. En este caso
recomendamos reemplazar inmediatamente las
válvulas defectuosas.

Escalado de potencia VARIPOWER
La función permite el ajuste de dos parámetros
clave de los pentodos de potencia de salida —la
corriente en reposo y el campo eléctrico efectivo
en la válvula. Esto le permite reducir de forma
continua la capacidad de potencia de la fase
de salida desde unos 100 watios a solo unos
pocos watios. Conservando el sonido del previo
exactamente igual, la potente fase de salida TRIREC
INFINIUM ahora puede comportarse como la de
un sencillo combo a válvulas de 5 watios de los de
ensayos. Ajustando un buen balance del volumen
MASTER con el ajuste VARIPOWER, podrá conseguir
cualquier cosa desde una suave compresión de
la etapa de potencia a una fuerte distorsión,
sin por ello sobrecargar las válvulas más que en
el funcionamiento normal. Esto es una ventaja
impresionante de nuestra tecnología VARIPOWER
en relación a los atenuadores de potencia típicos.
NOTA: Cuando cambie los ajustes VARIPOWER,
la corriente de desfase o bias objetivo para la
regulación INFINIUM es adaptada de forma
automática. Si toca mientras ajusta este
VARIPOWER, es posible que observe un ligero
cambio de volumen. Tenga en cuenta que este
VARIPOWER ha sido diseñado para escalar la
capacidad del amplificador virtualmente de cara
a conseguir una perfecta adaptación a su entorno
de ejecución, y no para cambiar continuamente el
sonido mientras toca.
