Trouble Shooting Push and Turn Electronic Ignition
No sparks appear
at
any electrodes
when
burner control
knobs
are turned to
SHi;
no noise can be
heard from the
electronic
igniter
module
No sparks appear

coming
from the
electronic
igniter
module
Sparks are present at
some but not all
electrodes;
spark is
weak
Battery
not installed properly
Dead battery

cap not installed
properly
Faulty ignition
module
Output
wires
are

connected
Electrode tip not in proper
location
Weak
battery
Some output
wires are not

Arcing to grill away from
burners
Electrodes are wet

Make sure "+"
end is facing
out.
Replace with new alkaline
battery.
Check to make sure battery
cap is fully engaged
with
battery
and screwed
onto ignition
module squarely.
Replace electronic
igniter
module.
Remove all output wires at electronic
ignition
module
and electrodes
and reconnect.
Ensure connections
are
tight.
Main Burners:
Tip of electrode
should be pointing
toward
gas port
opening
on burner. The distance
should be 1/8" to 3/16".
Adjust if necessary.
Rotisserie
Burner/Side
Burner:
Tip of electrode
should be pointing
toward
ceramic
top
on burner. The distance
should be 1/8"
to 3/16".
Adjust if
necessary.
Replace with new alkaline
battery.
Remove output wires at electronic
ignition
module
and
electrodes
that are not sparking
and reconnect.
Ensure
connections
are tight.
If possible, observe
grill in dark location.
Operate
ignition
system and look for arcing between
output wires
and grill frame.
Replace wires if arcing seen.
Use paper towel to remove moisture.
Clean electrodes
with rubbing
alcohol
Replace electrodes
