When
stitching
is
unsatisfactory
as
in
figures
2
and
3,
adjust
the
upper
thread
tension.
Lower
thread
tension
requires
adjustment
less
frequently
than
the
upper
thread
tension.
When
stitch
is
satisfactory,
as
in
figure
1 and
seam
is badly
puckered,
the
cause
may
he
tight
tensions
and
both
upper
and
lower
may
be
adjusted.

When
adjusting
the
tension
on
the
bobbin
case,
make
slight
adjustments
with
a screwdriver.

It is
necessary
to
reduce
the
upper
thread
tension
somewhat
when
doing
decorative
stitching.
The
wider
the
stitch
the
less
tension
is needed.
