17. Click the VPXpress IR Templates down arrow and choose a template name that
matches the active model's equipment type. The functions and channel
assignments assigned to the IR template appear in the Template Reference
column. Then, compare the IR template's assignments with the active IR file. If
the IR file's order is correct, go to step 18. If the order is incorrect, go to step 19.
IR templates are named according to the equipment types they are designed to
control. For example, if you assigned an IR file to a new VCR model, you would
choose the VCR,CASS,DAT – Generic template to populate the Template
Reference column. Then, you could verify whether the assigned IR file's order
is correct.
18. Click Approved if the IR file's order is correct. Then, click Finish to add the
model configuration to the database, return to the main window, and you are
done. However, if a VPXImport dialog box appears, you must complete the
remaining steps before the model is added to the database.
If the VPXImport dialog box shown in Figure 26 appears, click OK to approve
the power control setting or Cancel to change the associated channel
assignments. This power control setting is required when you choose the Use
Power Control option in the Control Information dialog box. The VPXpress
software program requires that you assign the power on/off IR control
function to channel number 9 for non-discrete control or channels 27 and 28 for
discrete control, and the program automatically prompts you to approve or
change the channel assignment. If not, the power option will not work
correctly.
