Using VPXImport
6. Enter or revise the information in the Notes field as required. If the
information is correct, go to the next step.
7. Click the Name down arrow and choose a new system call for the model as
required. If not, go to the next step. Assigning system calls to models is
optional, and should not be done unless you have experience using system
calls.
System calls are typically named using an abbreviation of the equipment type
they are designed to control. Therefore, if you are editing a VCR model in the
database, you should only use system calls containing VCR like VCR1, VCR2,
and VCR3.
8. Click Finish to save the non-IR controlled model's configuration and return to
the main window. For IR-controlled models, click Next to save the model's
configuration, open the Control Information dialog box (Figure 23), and go to
step 9.
9. To reassign a VPXpress IR file to the IR-controlled model go to step 10. If you
want to import an external IR file (not in original database) go to step 11.
10. Click Standard VPXpress Files and the Filename down arrow to open the IR file
list. Then, choose an IR file. Click the Info button to open the IR File
Information dialog box (Figure 24) to see the IR file's manufacturer, hand
control type, model, number of functions, and carrier frequency requirements.
Click OK to return to the Control Information dialog box. You may need to
repeat this step several times to find the best-suited IR file for the model. Then,
go to step 12.
