Using VPXImport
3. Click the Manufacturer down arrow and choose the model's manufacturer.
4. Enter the model's name or number in the Model Name field. If you attempt to
create a model name that matches a name already in the database, the program
requires you to change the name before proceeding to the next step.
5. Enter any pertinent information about the model in the Notes field. Entering
information in this field is optional.
6. Click the Name down arrow and choose a system call for the model type.
Assigning system calls to new models is optional and should not be done
unless you have experience using system calls. System calls are typically named
using an abbreviation of the equipment type they are designed to control.
Therefore, if you are adding a VCR model to the database, you should only use
system calls containing VCR like VCR1, VCR2, and VCR3.
7. Click Next to save the basic model information and open the Control
Information dialog box shown in Figure 13. This dialog box contains options to
assign IR files to models.
8. Go to step 9 to assign a standard IR file to the active model that was supplied
with the original program. To import external IR files (not supplied with the
program), go to step 10. Each IR file contains equipment-specific control
functions, and each function is assigned to a specific channel number so that
the Central Controller performs the correct operation.
