Pan recognition

Pan recognition is an additional safety
feature. Induction heating does not
work, ...
... if a cooking zone is switched on
without a pan in place or if the pan is
unsuitable:
The power setting entered goes out
after a few seconds, and the ß symbol
appears in the display for 10 minutes.
If a suitable pan is placed on the zone
during this time, the cooking zone will
start to work at the power setting that
has been entered.
If no pan, or an unsuitable pan, is
placed on the zone during this time,
then a 0 will appear in the cooking zone
display, and the cooking zone will
switch off automatically.
... if the pan is taken off the cooking
zone:
Operation is interrupted in this instance,
and the ß symbol will appear in the
display for about 10 minutes.
If a suitable pan is placed on the zone
during this time, the zone will continue
to operate at the power setting that was
last entered.
If no pan, or an unsuitable pan, is
placed on the zone during this time,
then a 0 will appear in the cooking zone
display, and the cooking zone will
switch off automatically.
Pan recognition protects against:
– unintentional switching on of a
cooking zone, e.g. by children;
– the risk of burning caused by
forgetting to switch off a zone after
removing a pan.
With pan recognition, induction
reacts to metallic items which are
magnetic. Do not use the hob as a
resting place for anything else.
