Operating the digital video processor
This chapter explains how to operate the DVP1080MF Digital Video Processor using the Faroudja remote
control.
Switching on and off
To switch on
• Press the red power/standby button on the front panel, or the On button on the remote
control.
To switch to standby
• Press the red power/standby button on the front panel or the Off button on the remote
control.
The front panel display shows:
FAROUDJA
DVP
SERIES
LOADING.............
Selecting a video input
The DVP1080HD provides six video inputs: VIDEO, S-VIDEO, RGB, YCrCb, DVI, and PASS-
THROUGH. You can select the current video input using the remote control or INPUT
menu.
The SETUP menu allows you to deactivate unused inputs. If an input is deactivated it will
not be visible on the INPUT menu, and the front panel display will show INPUT NOT
AVAILABLE if the input is selected with the remote control.
To select a video input
• Press the appropriate key on the remote control: Video, S-Video, DVI, RGB, YCrCb,
or Bypass.
To select an input from the
INPUT
• Press Menu.
The front panel display shows:
INPUT
MENU
<PRESS
UP/DOWN
KEY>
• Press V.
The display shows the current active input; for example:
ACTIVE
INPUT
S-VIDEO
• Press < or > to step between the active inputs.
After a short delay the currently selected option will be made the active input; for example:
ACTIVE
INPUT
DVI
When Bypass is selected, sources connected to the DVI input will be sent to the DVI
output unchanged by the processor. Analogue sources connected to the D15 input will be
sent to the analogue outputs unchanged by the processor.
