To connect a DVI projector or display (eg Meridian/Faroudja
D-ILA1080MF1)
• Connect the DVI output to the DVI input of the projector or display using a high-quality
DVI cable.
If you are using a Meridian projector:
• Connect the RS232 OPTION output from the DVP1080MF to the RS232 input of the
projector using the RS232 cable supplied with the projector.

Using cables not rated for the resolution being used will result in images with colour
sparkles and lines; always verify the maximum resolution of the cable with the cable
supplier.
For 1080p, fibre optic cables should be used for lengths over 4.5m (15') (or any cable rated
for 1600x1200 resolution. Check with cable supplier).
The processor monitors the DVI input and output status and provides the following
information on the front panel display:

Input signal is supported
NO INPUT
No signal is detected.
DVI PASS-THROUGH
A VESA rate has been detected and sent to the output
unprocessed.
RATE NOT SUPPORTED
A VESA or non-video rate has been detected but the selected
output is analogue RGB or YPrPb.
With HDCP encrypted sources, it can take up to 15 seconds for the HDCP authorisation
between source and display to be acquired. The display device must be HDCP compatible to
get an image.
The SETUP menu offers selections for setting the output type. See Configuring the digital
video processor , page 17 for details.
