Cables
NOTE:Thepositivebatteryterminalis markedPos. (+).
Thenegativebatteryterminalis markedNeg. (-).
• Thepositivecable(heavy redwire) is securedto the
positivebatteryterminal(+)with a hexbolt and hex
nut at thefactory.Beforeattachingthe negativecable,
notethe dateon theside of the battery.If the battery
is put into serviceafter this date, chargethe battery
as instructedin the Maintaining Your LawnTractor
sectionof this manualprior to operatingthe tractor.
• Removethehex boltand hexnut fromthe negative

Removetheblack plasticcover,ifpresent,from the
negativebatteryterminaland attachthe negative
cable(heavy blackwire)to the negativebattery
terminal(-) with thebolt and nut.
Attaching
The Seat
NOTE:Forshippingreasons,seatsare eitherfastened
to the tractorseat'spivot bracketwith a plastictie, or
mountedbackwardto the pivot bracket.Ineithercase,
freethe seat form its shippingpositionand removethe
two hex screws(or knobs,on modelsso equipped)from
the bottomof seatbeforeproceedingwith applicable
instructionsbelow.
1. Positionthe shoulderscrews(foundon the baseof the
seat) insidetheslot openingsin the seat pivot bracket.

2. Slide the seatslightlyrearwardin the seat pivot
bracket,liningup the rearslots in the pivot bracket
with the remainingtwo holesin the seat'sbase.

Selectdesiredpositionforthe seat,and securewith
the two knobs removed earlier.See Fig.3-2.
