Throttle
Control Lever
Thethrottlecontrolleverislocatedon the rightsideof the
tractor'sdashpanel.This levercontrolsthe speedof the
engineand whenpushedall the wayforward,the choke
controlalso.Whenset in a givenposition,thethrottlewill
maintain a uniformenginespeed.See Fig.4-2.
IMPORTANT: W henoperatingthetractorwith the cutting
deck engaged,be certainthat the throttleleverisalways
in the FAST(rabbit)position.

closesthechoke plateon the carbu-
retorand aids instartingthe engine.

Pedal
The brakepedal islocatedon the
rightfront sideof thetractorabove
thedrive pedalalong the running
board.The brakepedalcan be
usedfor suddenstopsor settingthe
parkingbrake.
NOTE:Thebrakepedal mustbe
fully depressedto activatethe safety
interlockswitchwhenstartingthe
tractor.

ARNING:Never leavea running machine
unattended. Always disengage PTO,move
shift lever into neutral position, set park-
ing brake, stop engine and remove key to
prevent unintended starting.
Tostart theengine,insertthe key intothe ignitionswitch
and turnclockwiseto the STARTposition.Releasethe
key intothe NORMALMOWINGMODEpositiononce
theengine hasfired.
Tostop the engine,turn theignitionkey counterclockwise
to the OFF position.See Fig. 4-3.
IMPORTANT:Priorto operatingthetractor,referto both
Safety InterlockSwitches and Starting The Engine
in this sectionof the manualfordetailedinstructions
regardingthe IgnitionSwitchModuleand operatingthe
tractorin REVERSE CAUTIONMODE.

Drive Pedal
The drivepedal is locatedbelowthe

rightfoot whenthetractorshift lever
is in either FORWARD or REVERSE

Groundspeedis alsocontrolledwith
the drivepedal.Thefurther down
the pedal is depressed,the fasterthe tractorwill travel.
The pedalwill returnto its originalpositionwhenit's not
depressed.

the tractorunattended,
