Solving Problems

This table lists some common problems and their solutions.
Problem
Background of received imag-
es appears dirty. Images from
the back of the page appear.
Printed or sent images are
spotty.
Received image is too light.
The machine failed to print re-
ceived fax documents.
Document appears blank at
the other end.
Both transmission and receiv-
ing are impossible.
Causes and solutions
Adjust scan density.
The ADF or exposure glass is
dirty. Clean them.
Make sure that ink or correc-
tion fluid is dry before placing
originals.
Request the sender to increase
image density.
When using moist, rough, or
processed paper, areas of print
may not be fully reproduced.
Only use recommended pa-
per.
When D is blinking, toner is
beginning to run out. Replace
the toner cartridge soon.
If this happened when the Re-
ceive File indicator was lit,
low paper or toner levels may
have caused printing to stop.
Store has been selected for Re-
ception File Setting. Print the
fax documents using a Web
browser or the Print Stored RX
File function.
When B is lit, load paper into
the tray.
The original was placed up-
side down. Place it properly.
Make sure that the modular
cord is correctly connected.
The setting of the terminal
adaptor used for ISDN con-
nection is incorrect. Check the
setting.
