Step 1 Turn the Camera On
Turning the Camera On and Off
• When the cameraisturned on, the power-on lamp (green)lights and the
monitor is turned on (the power-on lampturns offwhen the monitor is turned
on).
• To turn offthe camera, press the power switch. Both the monitor and the
power-on lamp are turned off.
• To turn on the camera in playback mode, press and hold the [] (playback)
button. At this time, the lens does not extend.
[] Power Saving Function (Auto Off)
If no operations are performed for a while, the monitor will turn off, the camera will enter standby
mode, and the power on lamp will blink. If no operations are performed for another three minute_
the camera will turn off automatically.

• Press the power switch, shutter release button or the [] button.

• The time that elapses before the ca mera enters standby mode can be changed using the Auto off
setting in the setup menu (_104).
• By default, the camera enters standby mode in about one minute when you are using shooting
mode or playback mode.
• Fyou are using the optional AC Adapter EH Sb, the camera enters standby mode after 30 minutes.
This setting cannot be changed.
