If the starteris difficult to pull, removethe sparkplug and pull the
handleseveraltimesto ensurethat any oil trappedin the engine
head is removed.
Oil may comeout of the spark plug holewhen it is removed and the
starterhandleis pulled.

bspect the sparkplug. If it is wet,cleanoff anyoil before
re-installing.

Cable
As a resultof both thecontrolcableand the auger drivebelt stretching
due to wear,periodicadjustmentsmay be necessary.If the auger
seemsto hesitatewhenrotating,proceedas follows:
Theupper hole in the controlhandle providesfor an adjustmentin
cabletension.Toadjust,disconnectthe end of controlcablefrom the
bottomholein the controlhandleand reinsertit in the upper hole.
Insertthe cablefrom theoutsideas shown in Figure18.

AUGER DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT
1.
Runthe snowthroweruntilthe fueltank is empty.
2.
Pullthe recoilstarterhandleuntil resistanceis fell Thentip the
snowthrowerbackuntil it restson thehandles.
3.
Slidea boardup throughthe augerand throughthe chute to
securethe auger in place.
4.
Removethe beltcover by removingthe threehexwasherscrews
and one hexlock screwthat secureit to the frame.See Figure19.
