If the starteris difficult to pull, removethe sparkplug and pull the
handleseveraltimesto ensurethat any oil trappedin the engine
head is removed,
Oil may comeout of the spark plug holewhen it is removed and the
starterhandleis pulled.

Inspectthe sparkplug. If it is wet,cleanoff anyoil before
re-installing.

As a resultof both thecontrolcableand the auger drivebelt stretching
due to wear,periodicadjustmentsmay be necessary.If the auger
seemsto hesitatewhenrotating,proceedas follows:
Theupper hole in the controlhandle providesfor an adjustmentin
cabletension.Toadjust,disconnectthe end of controlcablefrom the
bottomholein the controlhandleand reinsertit in the upper hole.

AUGER
DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT
1.
Runthe snowthroweruntilthe fueltank isempty.
2.
Pullthe recoilstarterhandleuntil resistanceisfelt.Thentip the
snowthrowerbackuntil itrestson thehandles.
3.
Slidea boardup throughthe augerand throughthe chute to
securethe auger inplace.
4.
Removethe beltcover by removingthe threehexwasherscrews
and one hexlock screwthat secureitto the frame.See Figure19.
