Now thatyou havesetupyour lawnmowerfor operation,
it's importantto becomeaquaintedwith its controlsand
features.
Blade Control
Theblade controlis attachedto the upperhandleof
the mower.Depressand squeezeit againstthe upper
handleto operateunit. Release it to stop engineand
blade.

Drive Control
Thedrivecontrol is locatedon the upper handle.
Squeezethe drivecontrol leverto engagethe drive
system.Releaseit to disengagethe drivesystem.To
slow downwhen approaching an obstacle,makinga
turn, or stopping,releasethe lever.
Cutting Height Adjustment Lever
Thecuttingheightadjustmentleveris located abovethe
left rearwheel.Toadjust thecutting height,referto the
AdjustmentSection.
Recoil Starter
The recoilstarteris attachedto the rightupper handle.
Standbehindthe unitand pullthe recoilstarterropeto
startthe unit.
Mulching Plug
Themulchingplug is usedfor mulchingpurpose.Instead
of collectingthe grassclippingsin the grasscatcher,your
mowerhasthe optionof recirculatingthe clippingsback
to the lawn. Makesurethat the reardischargedoor is
closedand the grasscatcheris removed from unit while
mulching.
Electric Starter (if Equipped)
Theignition switchis locatedon the left side of the
electricstarterhandlepanel.It is necessaryto chargethe
batteryfor 8 to 10 hoursbeforeinitial u se. Referto the
Maintenancesectionfor moreinformation.
Gas and Oil Fill-Up
1. Checkoil leveland add oil if necessary.Followengine
manualfor this.
2. Servicethe enginewith gasolineas instructedin the
enginemanual.See Enginemanualfor locationof gas
and oil fill.
