seatedon the pivot rod and the rear
discharge door restsfirmly against top of the grass
catcher.
8. The batterypackwithin the ElectricStarter mustbe
charged8 to 10 hoursbeforeuse. Referto "Charging
Battery"in the Maintenance sectionfor instructions.
9. Followthe stepsbelowto install themulchingbaffle:
a. Lift the rear dischargedoor and lift thegrass
catcherup and off of the pivot rod,if installed.
b. Insertthe mulchingbaffleas shown in Figure3-5
and releasethe reardischargedoor.

10.Toconvertto sidedischarge,makesuregrass
catcherisoff of the unit and reardischargedoor is
closed.

Height
The cuttingheightadjustmentlever is located abovethe
rearleft wheel.See Figure317.
a. Pullthe leverout and awayfrom the mower.
b. Movethe leverforwardor backfordesired cutting
height.
c. Releaselevertowardsmowerdeck.

Drive Control
Theadjustmentwheelis locatedin the drivecontrol
handlehousingand is usedto tightenor loosenthe
drivebelt. Youwill need to adjustthe drivecontrolif
the mowerdoes not propelitselfwith the drivecontrol
engagedor if the mower'swheelshesitatewith the drive
controlengaged.If eitherof theseconditionsoccur,
rotatethe adjustmentwheelclockwiseto tightenthe
cableor counterclockwise to loosenthe cable.See
Figure3-8.
