8 Turning OntheTV/VCR

Beforeyou turn on theTV/VCR, make sure there are batteriesin
the remote control and theTV/VCR is hooked up correctly.
The instructionson this pagework only when you turn on the
TV/VCR for the first time.

Press the POWER button.TheTV/VCR
will come on and the
screen shown below will appear.

Press the PLAYIA button or the STOP/I'
button to select
English or Spanish on-screen displays.

Press the MENU button. The screenshownbelow will appear.

Press the F.FWD/I_
button to begin automatic channel
setup. The'I-V/VCP,will memorize all available channels.When
channels are set,CHANNELS ARE SET will appear on-screen
briefly.Thenthe TV/VCE will go to the lowest channelpro-
grammed.
(If you try to set up channelswhen there is no antennaor cable
connectedto the TV/VCR, programming will appear to take place,
but eventuallya NO TV SIGNALS ... message will appear on-
screen.Connect an antennaor cable to theTVh/CR, then try
again.You may need to follow the steps on page 10 instead.)

Use the CHANNEL
AIY
buttons
or the Number
buttons
on the remote
control
to select aTV/VCR
channel. Use
theVOLUME
A/Vbuttons
to adjust the sound.
If youdo notsee anyon-screen d is-
plays whenyouturn on theTV/VCR,
checkyour hookups, then try again.
If you _11do not seeany on-screen
displays, f ollow the stepson pages
nine- 10 to selecta languageand
set up channels.
Toskipstep 2, pressthe MENU
button.An on-screen d isplayswill be
in English. T oskip step 4, pressthe
STATUS/EXIT b utton.Channels will
not be set up,and CHANNELS NOT
SETwill appear on-screen briefly.
Youcannot set up channelsif you
are usinga CableBox.
Line Inputmode will alwaysbe
stored in the TVIVCR's memory as
channel00.Wben you selectchan-
nel 00,AIV IN will eppear on-screen
briefly.Pressthe CHANNELA/Y
buttons or Number buttonsto select
another channel.
