Following is a list of expectations that HCI has for its distributors with regard to supporting
our products in the field. These expectations include, but are not limited to, Limited War-
ranty, Limited Warranty Service, and Limited Warranty/Service Parts Inventory.
All of Heat Controller's products carry a limited warranty of one kind or another. These
limited warranties are designed to provide the end user or consumer with a course of action
when a product fails within the limited warranty timeframe. Due to the nature of the HVAC
distribution channel, it may be necessary for the distributor to conduct limited warranty and
limited warranty service support at the location where the product was purchased.
Our expectations include:
• Understanding and communicating Heat Controller limited warranties by
product or product category
• Providing a course of action or directing the contractor and/or end user
with regard to policies and procedures of HCI limited warranties
• Contacting the HCI Rep for local problem-solving and assistance
• Ordering and/or stocking recommended limited warranty service/repair
parts for immediate availability
• Returning product to Heat Controller for further evaluation or for credit
when it is determined that limited warranty service in the field is not pos-
sible or feasible
• Honoring the limited warranty of an HCI product that may have been sold
by another HCI distributor
• Providing alternative service ideas or assisting HCI in locating a local
service provider
• Providing limited warranty replacement of a unit only when authorized by
HCI
