We rarely request or authorize product returns to the factory. When returns are authorized,
it is generally related to warranty service or performance issues that cannot be resolved in
the field.
There are several reasons why we do not accept returned products, including the following:
• High cost of handling and freight for you, the wholesaler
• Possibility of transit damage
• Cost to HCI for inspecting, assuring saleability and repackaging
As long as the product is in saleable condition, we recommend that you check your com-
pany's other locations (if you have branches) to see if one of them can use the product(s)
or contact your HCI representative to see if he can help you move the product.
There is a 25% restocking charge for products returned to our inventory.
IMPORTANT: Any product that is returned to the factory must have a Returned Goods
Authorization. A product sent to the factory without an RGA may be denied and will be
returned to you at your expense. To discuss the appropriateness of an RGA for your
situation, contact your HCI representative or our Customer Service Department.
NEW & UNUSED PARTS:
All parts (new and unused) must have prior authorization. To receive authorization, fax a
written request to the Purchasing Department at 517-787-9341. The request must include
the part number, quantity, and reason for return. Your request will be reviewed and, if
approved, an RGA will be issued for the parts authorized to be returned. These parts must
be returned freight prepaid.
All authorized parts returns will be subject to a 25% restocking charge.
WARRANTY PARTS:
Parts should not be returned to Heat Controller—if you return parts to Heat Control-
ler, you will be charged a handling fee. Keep the parts for a period of 60 days after the
claim has been submitted. If it becomes necessary during this period for the part to be
returned for some reason, you will be notified by the Warranty Department with return
instructions. After this 60-day period, the parts may be discarded.
The distributor is responsible for any freight charges for returned parts unless otherwise
instructed.
