  • Page 3 A Brief History Heat Controller, Inc., was founded in 1933, but can trace its roots to the formation of the Wingert Furnace Company in Montpelier, Ohio, in 1907. The first products were coal-, oil- and gas-fired furnaces. In 1949 the company moved to Manitou Beach, Michigan, and in 1955 Heat Controller was sold to its current owners and moved to a new plant in Jackson, Michigan, that remains the company’s headquarters today.

    Freight Claims Heat Controller, Inc., is not responsible for damage that occurs during shipment to your facility. It is essential that you inspect all goods at time of delivery and note any damage on the freight bill. If you discover damage later, contact the carrrier as soon as possible;...
  • Page 16 1. If the product is not saleable, request that Customer Service make arrangements for the damaged product to be returned to the factory. Heat Controller will then file a claim with the carrier and credit will be issued to the customer once the product is received at the factory and the claim has been processed.

    Product Pick-Up If you are located near the Heat Controller facility in Jackson, Michigan, you may want to pick up an order in person. The procedure listed below helps us serve all our customers better and alleviates delays due to truck lines that are occupying shipping docks during the day.

    Placing an Order As an authorized Heat Controller distributor, we make it easy for you to place an order. Simply fax or mail a purchase order to Customer Service. We strongly recommend you use eStorefront in placing orders; otherwise fax, mail or e-mail your order so we have a hard copy for reference (see “Contacts”...
  • Page 19 PRICING: Heat Controller mails price sheets to all distributors as they are revised to include new products and pricing changes. All prices are in US currency. Price sheets may also be ordered from our Literature Department using the Literature Order Form. Latest price sheets are also available in the restricted section of the web site.

    Heat Controller mail box; the operator will forward that message first thing on the next business day. E-MAIL E-mail messages are a fast and easy way to contact someone at Heat Controller or to request general information. Our “Contacts” list shows the e-mail addresses of the Heat Controller staff.

    All authorized parts returns will be subject to a 25% restocking charge. WARRANTY PARTS: Parts should not be returned to Heat Controller—if you return parts to Heat Control- ler, you will be charged a handling fee. Keep the parts for a period of 60 days after the claim has been submitted.
  • Page 22 LIMITED WARRANTY RETURNS: Heat Controller does not permit the exchange of a new unit for an old one under limited warranty. Prior authorization to replace a central and commercial unit or a mini-split unit must be approved by the Service Department. If you as a distributor decide to exchange the original unit with a new one from your inventory to satisfy a customer, the unit becomes the property of the distributor.

  • Page 25 Limited Warranty Service, and Limited Warranty/Service Parts Inventory. All of Heat Controller’s products carry a limited warranty of one kind or another. These limited warranties are designed to provide the end user or consumer with a course of action when a product fails within the limited warranty timeframe.
  • Page 40 After filing the RMT, keep the failed item for 60 days (or until you received your credit or replacement). If Heat Controller requires return of the failed item, you will be issued a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) which will be faxed to you and will reference the RMT tag number.
