Unit Returns
FREIGHT DAMAGE:
Heat Controller, Inc., is not responsible for freight damage. It is the responsibility of the
distributor to inspect units for freight damage at the time of delivery or to contact the carrier
immediately if damage is discovered: the carrier has a 15-day liability period. If damage is
not reported within 15 days, the carrier is no longer liable for any damage and the product
becomes the distributor's property.
Damaged product must be returned in its original packaging. Contact Customer Service
with any questions regarding this policy.
INCORRECT SHIPMENTS:
Contact Customer Service if a unit was ordered and the incorrect unit was shipped. It will
be determined if the unit was mis-shipped by HCI; if the unit was ordered incorrectly, the
appropriate Sales Manager will determine the disposition of the unit.
If authorization is given to return units due to mis-order, the distributor is responsible for
return freight and a restocking fee will be charged. If HCI shipped the wrong unit, no freight
or restocking charges will apply.
LIMITED WARRANTY RETURNS:
Heat Controller does not permit the exchange of a new unit for an old one under limited
warranty. Prior authorization to replace a central and commercial unit or a mini-split unit
must be approved by the Service Department. If you as a distributor decide to exchange
the original unit with a new one from your inventory to satisfy a customer, the unit becomes
the property of the distributor.
Room air units and dehumidifiers are sold with a parts and labor warranty. The owner
should call the appropriate number for service (see "Service" section). The unit should not
be returned to the distributor for a replacement. If you as a distributor decide to replace the
defective unit with a new one, you are assuming the responsibility for contacting the proper
service number for service at your location. Disposition of the repaired unit then becomes
your responsibility.
Do not return any units to Heat Controller, Inc., without prior authorization!
