- Clean the machine regularly of dust deposits in the motor
housing and in the protective cover.
- Wear protective goggles.
- Aluminium must only be sawed with the special saw blades
from Festool designed for this purpose.
- When sawing panels, they must be lubricated with
petroleum, thin-walled profiles (up to 3 mm) can be sawed
without lubrication.
4.5 Support of the workpieces:
Ensure that your workpieces are securely fixed and cannot
move during sawing. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of
accident. Never hold the workpiece to be cut with your hands
or between your legs. Use instead screw clamps (12.1) or
some other suitable devices to fix your workpiece.
Never position large or long workpieces so that they bend in
the middle or at the cutting face. This can lead to the saw
blade jamming and recoiling. Instead, support the workpiece
with several wooden battens (12.2), particularly in the vicinity
of the cutting face.

Accessories
The order numbers of the accessories listed below can be
found in the Festool catalogue or on the Internet under
"www.festool.com".
5.1 The parallel stop
The parallel stop can be used for cutting widths up to 180
mm. The parallel stop is fixed to the front of the saw bench
with the stop adapter:
- Insert the stop adapter (13.2) with the screw head (13.1)
into the holder on the saw bench.
- Insert the parallel stop (13.3) into the stop adapter.
- Turn the rotary head (13.4) and by this means clamp the
parallel stop firmly. You can see the cutting width set on the
scale on the front edge of the stop adapter.
5.2 The false-joints set
Using the false-joints stop, it is possible to cut 17-51 mm
wide fals-joints and 12 mm wide joints without the end stop.
In addition, a recoil guide shoe is available, which protects
sensitive workpieces (e. g. wood flooring) from scratches,
and prevents tearing of the cutting edge. The alse-joints stop
and recoil guide shoe are available together as a false-joints
set.
False-joints stop assembly
- Set the false-joints stop (14.1) with both rails (14.2) in the
side openings of the saw bench of your circular saw.
- Push both screws (14.4) into the slot (14.3).
- Set the required cutting width. When doing this, make sure
that the false-oints stop is parallel to the saw blade. Tighten
both screws with the milled heads.
Recoil guide shoe assembly
- Place the recoil guide shoe on the front side of the saw
bench.
- Press the recoil guide shoe backwards towards the saw bench
until you hear it engage.
- Before initial use the recoil guide shoe must be sawn to size
in the assembled state. To do this, plunge the circular saw
to the maximum cutting depth and at maximum speed.
5.3 Bench extension:
A bench extension can be fitted at the side of the saw blade
so that the support surface of the saw bench is increased.
The bench extension is fitted like the false-joints stop (see
6.3).
