Before Requesting Service
Check the following points once again if you are having trouble with your Combination VCR.

• Completelyinsertthe Power Plugintoan AC wall outlet.
• Set the POWERbuttonto ON.
• Makesureyourantenna orcablesystem isconnected totheCombination VCR.(P.5}
• Check thatthe powerplug iscompletely pluggedintoan AC outlet.
• Check thatthe POWER buttonis setto on.
• Adjustthe BRIGHT, SHARPNESS, andPICTURE controlsin the SET UP TV
menu.(P.12)
• Adjustthe VOLUME control.(P.11)
• Adjustthe SHARPNESSandPICTURE controls in the SET UP TV menu.(P.12)
• Adjustthe TINT and COLOR controlsin the SET UP "IV menu.(P.12)
• Installa directional a ntenna.
• Make surethat the channelbeingreceivedis in the Combination VCR's
memory.(P. 8)
• Thedesignofthis unitis suchthatonlythe channel b eingrecorded can beviewed.
• Makesureyourantennaor cablesystem isconnected t othe Combination VCR. (P.5)
• Make sure thatthe recordtab is intacton the cassette. (P. 32)
• This unit is not designed for stereo/SAP broadcast recording.
• Set the recording Start/Stoptimecorrectly.(P.18-19)
• Timerrecording maynot be performed or continued if a power interruption o f more
than1 minute occurs before orduring a Timer Recording, a fterpoweris restored.
• Adjust the TRACKING control in either direction. (P.16)
• Make sure that VCR LOCK is set to off. (P. 23)
• Aimthe Remote Control directlyat theremote sensor onthe Combination VCR. (P.7)
• Avoidall obstacles whichmay interfere withthe signalpath.
• Inspectthe remotebatteriesfor possiblereplacement.(P. 4)
• Make surethatVCR LOCKis set to off.(P. 23)
• Exposingthe Combination VCR remotesensorto directfluorescent o r outdoor
lightmay causesignalinterference.
• Press the TVNCR button to select MAIN mode. (P. 31)
• Insert the cassette window side up; record tab facing you.
• Check that the power plug is completely plugged into an AQ outlet.
• Turn the POWER off and then on_and try ejecting or inserting the tape again.
• Make sure the record tab is intact on the cassette. (P. 32)
• To enablethe quickplay mechanism, t he VCR cylinderwillrotatefor about5
minutes.This reducesresponsetimefrom Stopto Playmodeand from Play to
RewindSearchmode.
• Make sure that VCR LOCK is set to off. (P. 2"3)"
